Real-life experience reveals the need for support in transferring to Germany.
The years I spent in Germany while accompanying family who came to work as a university researcher was an absolutely amazing experience.
Although I must say, that along with the happy experiences, I also experienced a huge mountain of tasks and to-do’s just to settle down and start a living in Germany. Immediately after being assigned to work in Aachen, I searched throughout the internet for information about living in Aachen, looked for an apartment, did numerous applications and registrations, and tried to find a kindergarten for the children, all from far-away Japan. It seems easy at first glance, but in reality it was quite difficult, not to mention extremely time-consuming.
A friend of mine was stuck in a hotel for an entire month with her husband and two children, because they had trouble getting a contract for an apartment. Even after many years, I still vividly remember the hardships I experienced in Aachen, where language, culture, and way of thinking are all vastly different from my home country.
“If someone could have helped me get settled into my new life in a new city…”
“If someone had been there to give me advice before moving to an unknown country…”
I believe that life in Germany would have been an even more fruitful and fulfilling one for both me and my family, if I had had someone close by to help me back then. This is the reason why I have started my relocation service: so that researchers and their families coming to German universities can start their new life in a foreign country without worry, and with as little stress as possible.
Even though “years” sound like a rather long time, the few years living and working in a foreign country will go by in the blink of an eye. My staff and I, who have all personally experienced moving and settling down with family in Germany, can help you get the most out of this quickly passing yet valuable time,
by helping you clarify and solve your worries and issues surrounding your move.
Let us stand by you for your first steps into your new life in Germany. We are committed to provide services which will send you and your family off to a quick and comfortable start of an exciting experience in a brand new environment.

OUR TEAM
Resided in Aachen 2013-2018.
Mother of two girls born in Japan and Germany.
I started my career as a system engineer, then became a web engineer, and finally a business consultant, before I moved to Germany in 2013 to accompany my husband, who had found a research position at RWTH Aachen University. Experiencing first-hand how difficult it is to set up life in a foreign country, I set my heart on starting my own relocation service, Helfensankaku, immediately as I returned to Japan.
My belief is that the key to success is 8 parts preparation and 2 parts work! We will give our full support so that you can start your study life abroad as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
Hello! I have been living in Aachen since 2014. My hobbies are eating and comparing Printen from the different bakeries in Aachen and going café-hopping. I will be glad to assist you in settling into your new life abroad and to help you have a fulfilling study life in this beautiful city of Aachen.
I have sporadically lived in different parts of Germany since 2010. I have been living in Darmstadt for 3 years now, and I can say that it is a very comfortable city to live in. It would be my great pleasure to share with you the charm of the relatively obscure academic city of Darmstadt.
Hello! I am Little Miss Millet Dumplings, a mother of two. Growing up in Okayama, Japan, a prefecture famous for its grapes and white peaches, naturally made me a fruit lover. I relish eating fresh fruit of the season. Delicious millet dumplings are also my source of power to give my best to support our customers!!
