Suburban towns
Wixhausen is a town located further north of Arheilgen. Many researchers working at the nearby GSI Helmholtz Centre for Heavy Ion Research and their families live in the area. Like in Arheilgen, finding countermeasures for aircraft noise pollution is a major issue for the residents.
